The CINEMAZ project aims to continue the activities of MAZ- ASSOCIAÇÃO ARTÍSTICA in the actions of cinematographic inclusion in MG. The project will hold a CINEMA FESTIVAL with exhibitions  of the winning short, medium and feature films online. The main objective of the exhibition is to contribute even more to the diffusion of independent films and to the expansion of the public interested in cinema not only as entertainment, but with a discerning eye.

CINEMAZ will be held ONLINE, respecting WHO-Covid 19 standards. Seeking to differentiate itself by its bold profile and quality, the exhibition opens space for local, state, national and international filmmakers to compete in a Show of different categories.

In them, films that deal with different themes and creative processes will be shown. The event follows the line of other festivals held by MAZ, OFFCINE (THE BIGGEST INDEPENDENT CINEMA FESTIVAL IN THE COUNTRY),  the INHAPIM CINE FESTIVAL (THE LARGEST CINEMA FESTIVAL IN THE EAST  MINEIRO) and LEAVING THE DRAWER (THE FESTIVAL THAT RESCUES FILMS THAT HAVE ALREADY LEFT THE CIRCUIT OF FESTIVALS).

Being critical reflection, audience formation and fruition the core objectives of the project. All sessions are free and cover audiences of different ages.  The CINEMAZ FESTIVAL will take place between the 20th of AUGUST and the 24th of OCTOBER 2021, in stream format.

CINEMAZ will be a major annual cinematographic event. The exhibition has its profile in tune with the work developed by the project team and supporters, who aim to insert the city into the Minas Gerais, Brazilian and international audiovisual production hub. The exhibition being a key moment in the promotion and opening of the city to the seventh art, cinema.

The exhibition will attract a large audience, since through the online platform, people will have access to meetings with the directors, through debates and to watch the winning films of the exhibition for free. This is a fundamental activity for the formation of an audience, arousing interest in works that do not find space in traditional exhibition channels.

Activities parallel to exhibitions such as debates also contribute to this formative role.

It is also worth noting that CINEMAZ currently has a team of excellence, made up of professionals with distinct and complementary experiences in the audiovisual area and with local, national and international performance. In addition to acting at the Festival itself, this team has worked in several projects of broad cinematographic relevance.
